Tawa College entered 6 quartets and a boys and girls chorus in the recent Wellington Regional Barbershop competition.

Out of these 8 groups that were entered 5 qualified for the Nationals that are to take place in Hamilton in September. 

Congratulations to all the students who have worked hard over the first part of the year to sing a the regionals and acknowledge the following placings

Acafellas - Boys Chorus 1st

Maiden Tawa - Girls Chorus 3rd

Three quartets also qualified for the nationals they are Harmonettes (Kaitlyn Owen, Nikki Hurnen, Esme Evans and Monica Caballes), Fourtissibro (Matt Barris, TJ Hernandez, Cameron Brown and Daniel Bernards) and Conchordance (Matt Oliver, Logan Hunt, Eric Diputado and Kaylem Poese-Nathan).

Congratulations to Charlotte Murray who runs the barbershop programme at Tawa College. She is an outstanding director/coach and also is on the organising committee of this event.
