Freedom Challenge - Amnesty International

Amnesty International's Freedom Challenge is next week. We are raising awareness of human rights and unfair labour practices in the palm oil industry. On Tuesday you can come to the front of the hall and enjoy fresh hot donuts. Wednesday we'll have a display and info about how we can help workers everywhere. On Friday there will be a surprise food sale in front of the hall. Stay tuned! Your voice CAN make a difference. Make yourself heard!
World Challenge 2018 Thailand/Laos Yr 10-12

After a a successful 2016 trip World Challenge returns to Tawa College. Our next expedition will take us to Thailand and Laos in December 2018. This opportunity is for year 10, 11 and 12 students who are interested in learning about different cultures, helping others in less developed countries, trekking and camping in the wild and developing their interpersonal skills. There will be a speaker coming to talk in Assembly about this opportunity and you can also see Mr Pugh for more information and an invitation to sign up.

There will be a gear check in class on Wednesday for the Hutt river trip. You need to bring in your survival kit and all other equipment on the list. If you do not have something this will be a good time to ask so we can ensure everyone has the correct equipment. If you don't have it checked you will not be able to come on Friday. Cheers GRA
Survivor Committee 2018
Do you have what it takes to lead or be part of a DYNAMIC team? Applications are now open for next year's Year 13 and Year 12 students to lead Survivor in 2018. Just answer in full the following questions:
i. Why do you want to be part of the committee? ii. What could you bring to the table as a survivor leader/member? iii. What roll (e.g. help/lead with sponsorship, help/lead with administration, etc.) do you think you would be best suited for? iv. What new ideas could you bring to this year's Survivor Event?

Model Needed for Design Project
A year 12 Art Design student is looking for a model (male) to help with a poster design assignment photo shoot. If you're interested in helping out you can contact Mr. Connor the design teacher, ASAP in the art department.
